ABSTRACT
Geography being an important link between the natural and social sciences enables the students to encounter different societies and cultures and also acquire knowledge on how to relate in the diversity of social environment. Students develop an understanding of the spatial interrelationship between people, place and environments. They appreciate the complexity of the world, the diversity of its environments and the challenges and associated opportunities. The South Australian Certificate of Education report in 2017 states that Geography develops and appreciates the importance of place in explanation of economic, social and environmental phenomena and processes. Geography provides a systematic, integrative way of exploring interconnection, sustainability, scale and challenges. Students identify patterns, trends, explore and analyse Geographical relationship and interdependencies. They use the knowledge to promote a more sustainable way of life and an awareness of social spatial inequalities.
