Factors Affecting The Adoption Of Fertilizers By Rice Farmers In Bende Local Government Area Of Abia State

ABSTRACT

Efforts have been made at revamping agriculture in Nigeria by various governments. These efforts are aimed at transforming agriculture from its present sustenance level to market oriented production through policy measures and programmes aimed at rein formation of the whole agricultural sector by creation of appropriate institutions and public services designed to strength the economic  position of the individual farm Cr. It is worth noting that rice production is dominated by small-holder producers who employ traditional practices and primitive technology leading to stagnation or even fall in production and supply of this commodity. This condition is made worse by rural urban drift which leaves the production of rice in the hands of the aged, the women and children.
