ABSTRACT

The researcher sought to Jind out the University students knowledge of IIIV/AIDS in the university community, their compliance to VCT an entry point to stemming down oj IIIV/AIDS in the university community. To carry out the study. 1000 students were purposively and incidentally selectedfro two universities in Abia Stale (AHSU Uturu and MOUA Umudike). 3 research questions were asked, percentages were used to answer. Two hypotheses were tested using chi-squared statistics. Resultsshowed thatstudentsin both universities haveacceptable knowledge ofHIV/AIDS. 28% of them have not gonefor VCT. Those who have gone were not counseled except for 2%. It is recommended that VCT centres be established in these universities and others to stem the tide of IIIV/AIDS
