ABSTRACT

This study focus on Evaluation of the influence of participative management on organizational productivity (A study of selected manufacturing industries in Aba). The main objective of the study is to evaluate the influence of participative management on organizational productivity. While the specific objectives are to determine the extent of practice of participative management in manufacturing industries, to determine the impact of participative management on organizational productivity, to examine challenges of participative management in manufacturing industries and lastly, to evaluate the extent relationship between participative management and organizational productivity. Primary data were collected through questionnaire conducted on the staff and management of the selected manufacturing industries (Nigeria Breweries Pie and Uniliver Nigeria Pie) both in Aba, Ahia State, while secondary data were collected through textbooks, Journals, lecture note etc. the population of the study is 400 staff and management of both industries with 200 sampling size determines with Taro Yamane's formula Validity was used to evaluate the test which the researcher asked the respondents to examine the objectives and nature of response gotten if they are relevant or not. Reliability, the test-retest method was used and Cronbach alpha to be used to determine co-efficient of reliability. Questionnaire pattern was 5 points Likert scale which was used to gather infonnation from respondents. Method of analysis adopted was Chi-square analysis. The key findings of this study indicates that participative management enhances organizational productivity and sustains it's survival to a large extent. Finally recommendation is made that organizations should make participative management practice part of the organizational culture
