ABSTRACT

This study is concerned with ways of enhancing the quality of education through discipline in secondary schools in Abia State. The sample sizewas 150 studentsselectedthrough simple random sampling technique. Three (3) research questions guided the study. The instrumentfordata collection was a questionnaire on a 4 point rating scale of Strongly Agree, Agree , Disagree and StronglyDisagree and VeryHigh Extent, High Extent, Low Extent and Veiy Low Extent made of3 sections (A, B and C) was used. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, frequency and mean scores. The findings included the forms of disciplinary problems that undermine the quality ofeducation and the extent these forms interfere with learning. The ways of minimizing indiscipline in schools were also discovered and it was recommended that discipline should be taught to children right from home byparents amongothers.
