ABSTRACT
The study empirically analyzed the determinants of deposit mobilization in Nigeria from 1995 to 2017. The determinants ofdeposit mobilization considered in the study was money supply, interest rale and number of bank branches in Nigeria. The data collected was analyzed using multiple regression analysis. Based on the results, it was found that money supply had a positive and significant effect on deposit mobilization, while interest rate number of commercial banks branches were negative but insignificant. It was recommended among other things that banks have to also search for other alternative fund sources such as sale of their shares, bonds and loan securitization and sales during the severe liquidityproblems. Inter-bank lending could be other sources ifthe market warrants.
