Efficiency and marketing analysis of quail egg in Ikwuano Local Government area of Abia state, Nigeria:- Ogbonna, Chinaezuoke C.

ABSTRACT

 The study analyzed the efficiency of quail marketing in Jkwuano local government area of abia state, Nigeria. The specific objectives were to; identify the socio economic characteristics of the respondents, Identify the marketing channel of quail marketers in the study area, detennine the cost and returns of quail marketers in the study area, detennine the factors that affects the profitability of quail marketing in the study area and identify the problems faced by the marketers in the study area data were collected by means of purposive and random sampling technique, 2 markets were purposively selected from the study area while 20 respondents were randomly selected from the 2 purposively selected markets in the study area bringing the sample size to 40. Data were collected through a well-structured questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistical tools such as mean percentages, tables and frequencies as well as inferential statistical tools e.g. multiple regression analysis and gross margin analysis. In the result of the regression analysis, linear functional fonn was chosen as the lead equation with an R of 0. 927, the result indicated that storage cost, age, volume of sales, marketing experience and depreciation of assets were significant. The research also made few recommendations based on findings.
