ABSTRACT

The effects of single element fertilizers: Muriate of potash, single super Okg/lia, 200kg/ha, 300kg/ha, 400kg/ha and 500kg/ha per planting bucket. analysed to ascertain the free, bound and total cyanide content. The type of fertilizer used significantly affected (at P < 0.05) the cyanide content of the treated cassava seedlings. Though the quantity of fertilizer applied affected the cyanide content, the effect was not significant at (P 0.05). The result generally indicated that the treatment lowers the hydrocyanic acid content of cassava. More so, the cyanogenic glycoside than the . roots. esculenta, Crantz) cyanide was investigated. The cassava variety TMR 8082 was cultivated in buckets and treated with different fertilizers at the rate of leaves of cass
