ABSTRACT
Application of goat manure increases thee hydraulic properties of the soil. Most of these studies are either limited to manure amendment, effect on poor size distribution. The objective of this study is to determine the effect of goat manure was applied to soil sample at different rates such as 5 tonnes, 10 tonnes, 15 tonnes, 20 tonnes and no manure to serve as control. The hydraulic properties of the different samples were determined to evaluate the available water, water holding capacity, wilting point and saturation point of the soil. Application rate at 20 tonnes or 4lokg/tonnes gives the highest available water which means this rate will make water more available to the plant when used on the farm. Hence, this is highly recommended for use by farmers. Further studies is therefore recommended on the effect of goat manure on the other soil properties.
