ABSTRACT

The oyster mushioom, Pleurotus oslreatus was inoculated and cultured in three different media. The first medium control experiment. The experiment was carried out to determine whether the vitamins will improve or inhibit the growth of the mushroom mycelia. It was observed that vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) performed best followed by the control and finally vitamin Bl (thiamine). It therefore suggests that vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) accelerates mycelial growth while Vitamin Bl (thiamine) discussed in relation to the use of vitamins to mass produce the mycelia of P.oslreatus which could improve the final yield ofmushroom eventually. ix contains vitamin B, (thiamine), the second
