ABSTRACT

The study examined the effect of staff welfare on employee productivity in ministry of works Abia State. The specific objectives were to determine the effects of staff welfare on employee productivity, to ascertain factors that affect staff welfare in ministry of works, to determine the relationship between staff welfare and employee productivity and also identify welfare packages adopted by the organization in the study area. Secondary and primary data were used for the study. Primary data was obtained through the administration of questionnaires to the staff of Ministry of work in Abia State. The population of the study was 400 and the sample size was 200. The study adopted purposive sampling techniques. The result shows that. appropriate packages leads to increase in employee's productivity at the ministry of work Abia State. It was recommended that Ahia State Government should map out a substancial scheme for all the categories of workers at the ministry. It should not be assumed that once salary have been paid to workers, any other thing concerning the workers welfare has been taking care of. The management should not ignore issues like emergency assistance in case oi: health. welfare s_chemc. natural disaster and job security at the ministry al the ministry. of work in Abia state.
