Globally, the activity of banks reflects their unique role as the engine of the growth any economy. This study examines the effect of recapitalization on commercial bank performance. The effects so far explain the reason for recapitalization position, as well as the effect of the policy on the corporate image of the surviving banks. The question now is what the effect of recapitalization on employment is and also what is the effect of recapitalization on the total assets growth. The researchers observe that the recapitalization has impacted greatly on both the capital base of the bank and on employment. And this also implies that the bank is more profitable after the reform. The study strongly recommends the need for the government to sustain the recapitalization policy
