ABSTRACT

This study focus to investigate the effect of investment appraisal techniques on performance in manufacturing companies in Nigeria using Nigeria Bottling Company as a case study, The study adopted secondary data from the annual financial report ofthe company for analysis and utilized ordinaiy least squares as the regression method fbr data analysis. Three models were formulated and the result from model one shows that Acquisition of fixed Assets has a positive and significant relationship with Return on Assets. From model two a positive and significant relationship was found to exist between Acquisition of fixed Assets and profit after Tax. while model three shows that there is a positive but insignificant relationship between Acquisition of fixed Assets and Keturn on Bquity. 1'hc study hence concludes that Acquisition qI' fixed Assets critically ciffects business organization on the basis of their going concern, therefore a more holistic approach that will incorporate \ arious departments in the syslcm is rccoinnuikl u better investment appraisal, selection and decision.
