ABSTRACT

The study investigated on the Effect of Inventory Management on the Profitability of Manufacturing Companies in Nigeria, (A Study of PZ CUSSON PLC ABA). The main objective of the study is to ascertain the effect of inventory management on the profitability of manufacturing companies in Nigeria. To achieve the objective, the ex post facto was adopted. The researcher adopted secondary data in getting the required information. Data were collected from PZ CUSSON PLC ABA ABIA STATE, annual report and financial summary between "2009-2017". In testing the hypothesis, simple regression analysis was used. The findings reveled that inventory management has a significant effect on the profitability of manufacturing companies in Nigeria. The further findings reveled that inventory management has a significant effect on returns on equity. The researcher recommends that manufacturing companies should employ or appoint competent hands to manage if success would be attained in the organization. He further recommends that more efforts should be geared towards teaching of this course in accounting departments of various institution so that more competent and qualified graduates will be injected into the labor market.
