Effect Of Information Technology On Accounting Processes Of Firms In Nigeria (A Study Of Selected Banks In Nigeria)

ABSTRACT

The   study    investigated    the   effect   of   information    technology    on   accounting processes  of firms  in Nigeria.   The objective  of the study  is to determine  the effect of information  technology   on accounting  processes  of firms in Nigeria.  To achieve the  objective   of  the  study,   survey   research   design   method   was  adopted.   The researcher  adopted  primary  data in getting the required  information  using  a sample size  of  187 respondents.   In testing  the hypotheses,   simple regression  analysis  was used.   The·  findings  revealed  that  there  is  a  significant   effect  of the  adoption  of information   technology  on accounting  process  of selected  banks.  The findings  also revealed  that there  is  a significant   effect on the adoption  of information  technology on  customer   service   delivery   of  banks.   The  researcher   recommends   that  banks should     improve   more   on   its   information    technology    so   as   to   enhance    its productivity.    It  was  also   recommended   that  the   use   of   (IT)    in   the   banking sector   should   not  only  be  restricted   to  the  cities  alone,   rural   banking   should also  be  improved   upon
