Effect Of Effective Cash Management On Corporate Performance (A Study Of Union Bank Plc.)

ABSTRACT

The objective of this study is to examine and evaluate Effect of Effective Cash Management on Corporate Performance, Procedures and Techniques adopted in commercial banks. To achieve this, current literature on various aspects of cash management, cash planning, collection and disbursement within the framework of Union Banks were considered. The major focus of the research was to evaluate from the sampled Bank, effect of effective cash management, its attractiveness and advantages. Effective cash management has been a parameter in the growth and development of financial institutions ie: commercial banks. It is on this role that the research evaluates the parameters with Union Bank Plc as the case study. Statistical instruments were used as bases for the research methodology and the data collection method are Questionnaire, Personal interviews and personal knowledge of the researcher. In the course of conducting the research on effect of effective cash management on corporate performance, it was found that liquidity profitability and output maximization is the main objective behind the formation of commercial banks. In the above regard, cash is the oil lubricates the wheel of any business and that commercial banks are bound to fail if there is no efficient cash -management. However, it is recommended that before any disbursement is made, comparism should be made between the cost and I benefit, establishment of separate department charged with the responsibility of receiving and disbursing cash and records thereof, chief financial manager must guarantee cash when required etc.
