ABSTRACT

The study appraised the application of Contemporary Motivation Tools on organizational performance in some selected Nigerian banks. The study investigated on how bank managements can effectively improve upon the performance of their work force through the adoption of Contemporary Motivation Tools. The study made use of primary and secondary data obtained from the selected banks, in Nigeria. The data collected were analyzed using a non-parametric statistical tool like the Chi-square (x2) at 0.05 level of significance and tables. The result of the analysis shows that staff motivation leads to commitment and dedication to work. Based on this finding therefore it is recommended among other factors that staff motivation is an indispensable managerial tools for organization growth in Nigerian banks. Additionally, good knowledge of the "why" and "how" man behaves in a given way will help influence their attitude towards carrying out assigned responsibilities directed towards a broad objective.
