ABSTRACT

The main objective ofthe study is to examine the effect ofcomputerized accounting system on the performance ofcorporatefirms in Nigeria. This study adopts survey research design. The research work adopts primary source ofdata in obtaining all the data needed for the study. The multiple regression method is adopted in investigating the relationship between the dependents and independent variable. Also, the result presents an insignificant effect on the effective computerized accounting system on corporate firms in Nigeria. In conclusion computerized accounting system has a positive insignificant effect on fraudprevention and other financial irregularities of corporate firms in Nigeria .In recommendation, corporate firms should put in place with effective accounting procedures that will checkmate fraud, move its performances towards the attainment ofproductivity and sound managerial efficiency and also, a careful plan should be put in place in selecting the right employees that is devoid oflapses so as to further enhance the quality ofinternal controls and lastly, managers should be well informed about the available internal controls in place to enable them chose the right system that will enhance more managerial efficiencyforfraud utilization.
