Economic Analysis Of Cocoa Marketing In Abia State: Case Study Of Ikwuano L G. A.

ABSTRACT.
A study to analyse the economics of marketing cocoa in Abia State using Ikwuano LGA as a case study was carried out. For the study, randomly selected cocoa marketers served IlSS1IL the source of the primary data that was used. There after, the collected data were analysed using ;aile percentages and simple equations, and the following findings were made; i. The licensed cocoa buying agents have a marketing margin of approximately 3%, which is low. ii. The factors inhibiting cocoa marketing in the state range from fluctuating prices, government policies, high marketing cost, poor market information, to the dissolution of the cocoa marketing board, amongst others.
