ABSTRACT
Solar still is a device which allows using the heat of the Sun to evaporate brackish water an condense fresh water for drinking and other industrial use. This work presents the analysis of a solar water distillation system. There is important need for good drinking water in the world today due to harmful effect of water borne diseases. Most water from rivers, ponds; seas are either salty or brackish and require purification before drinking. The water used in this work is collected from the pond water in Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike and the experiment was performed at the department experimental field in Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike. The Fluid and Surface temperature were recorded at regular intervals of time. The Fluid and Surface temperature of the still were measured and recorded with thermometer. It was concluded that the performance of the developed solar water still were affect by the temperature and solar intensity of the area it was tested. Fresh water was obtained and tested for standard quality.
