ABSTRACT viii i Traction is an act of puling or drawing something over a surface, this work focuses on the correction of dislocated bone while undergoing orthopedic traction and performance evaluation on the speed at which this machine needs to run in other to avoid tear and wear of tissues and muscle, the inspections of this evaluation was modeled on Ansys. The investigation into the analysis revealed that for a successful orthopedic traction that the design ofthe electric jack used for tensioning during the traction has a maximum tension of the rope is 2986N where maximum lift force is about 2000N at an angle of 48° at inclination with the tension rope, The power ofthe electric jack was 0.24hp where input voltage was 12volt with a current of 15amp. knowing the diameter of average human bone with a diameter of 3.0cm from referenced sources, with an estimated area of 0.0007m3, the total stress exacted on the bone is 3.84mpa. For a low speed impact, the simulation gives us a fracture of the femoral neck and not its fragmentation. If we increase the impact velocity (14 m/s), the femoral neck begins to fracture first in the area close to the greater trochanter. The electric motor should run below 14m/s to avoid rupture around the femur neck and tendons.
