Determination Of Physical Properties Of Black Velvet Tamarind (Daluiumguinense)

ABSTRACT
This research looked at some se1cted properties of black velvet tamarind (Daluiumguinense) seeds, which includes the physical properties such as axial dimension, sphericity, surface area, 6 bulk density, solid density, bulk porosity, volume, moisture content, angle of repose, geometric mean diameter and sphericity, which are essential in the design and construction of the processing and handling equipr1ent of the seeds. The physical properties were investigated at moisture content of 10.71 (web) and also its relationship with angle of repose were analyzed using statistical analysis (correlation). The sphericity was discovered to be 0.29 with standard deviation of 2.80, surface area is 50.63 with standard deviation of 15.62. While the bulk density, solid density, bulk porosity, volume, angle of repose and geometric mean diameter are 0.37, 0.60, 37.34, 7.3, 82.81, 16.74. All the physical properties measured showed some deviation from the mean values which is typical of agricultural biomaterials.
