ABSTRACT

The use of fossil fuel is part of everyday life in the developing countries of the world especially in Africa. It results to air pollution, deforestation and erosion. Developing technologies to tap into solar radiation which is an abundant and renewable source of energy is the solution to the problems associated with the use of fossil fuel. Solar applications are no new ideas which include solar water pump, solar water distiller, solar air heater, solar dryers and solar water heater. Solar water heater is a technology that taps into solar radiation energy used to heat water for several purposes ranging from domestic to industrial purposes. The use of solar heater can help to reduce environmental pollution, deforestation, health risk and cost of fossil fuel
