Design And Fabrication Of Multi-Purpose Slicer

ABSTRACT
The multi-purpose slicing machine was designed, fabricated and tested. The machine slicing unit comprises of a detachable cutting blades namely the slice blade, strip blade and cube blade, a drive shaft and finally a lhp high speed motor. Different speed efficiency of this blades was tested. Further tests carried out on the slicing machine involved placing 137g of hay fodder on the hopper, which was then conveyed to the slicing unit, where it was sliced to desired size. It took an average of 3 minutes to process 137g of hays during the test. Series of test were carried out on the machine, which showed that it had an efficiency of 89% when cutting with slice blade and is much faster than manual slicing technique.
