ABSTRACT

This project focused on the design and construction of obstacle avoidance automatic vehicle using 8051 microcontroller. The 8051 microcontroller used in the design was used to sense obstacles in front and around the vehicle and try to avoid colliding with the obstacle within a distance range of 2m, this was done by writing a program in Assembly language in an ASMMIDE development environment a platform used to generate the virtual world (for the, IR sensors, Motors, Drivers and 8051 Microcontroller) for the obstacle avoiding vehicle for its software and debugging it for possible errors. It was tested on Protuse 6 to see ifthe software would drive the hardware before incorporating the firmware on the hardware by an interface ISP distance measured. Also, result obtained showed that the value of 0.9343 was observed which matches the threshold ofPearson’s correlation coefficient of analyzing systems. xi \ or ICP mode.
