ABSTRACT
An automatic greenhouse monitor is designed to meet the growing demand of agricultural industries particularly greenhouse in Nigeria for automation of monitoring the humidity of the soil. With the advance of technology, the world is going computerized and today very simple tasks to the most difficult ones can be done unhumanly aided. In greenhouse, plants are 4 grown in special environmental conditions, a device like the automatic greenhouse monitor will ensure that the plants are watered whenever they need water. The device is designed to automatically monitor the water content on the soil, as it was programmed to stop manually monitor of greenhouse which is subjected to a lot of time wasting, stresses and mistakes in watering the plants. The device includes sensors which senses the water contents on the soil and activates the thermistor which triggers the relay ON, to power the water-pump to pump water from the reservoir to the plant soil. The device switches OFF automatically when the soil is watered and switches ON again when the water dry to enhance the effective growth of the plants in the greenhouse.
