ABSTRACT

This project presents the design and construction of a call system for Healthcare Delivery. The system provides a medium for the management of Healthcare delivery for nurses/ doctors so as to carryout their duties effectively by ensuring the overall productivity and efficiency. This project meets the growing needs of patients while on sick beds waiting for nurses/doctors attention. It provides an avenue for quick and fast response for patients whenever they need the attention of nurses/doctors. The system consists of five functional units and once a patient depresses a push — button switch, it generates a negative pulse at the Tigger pin of the 555 timer which becomes high at the output for a period of 5.17 seconds and goes low until another negative pulse is received at the trigger pin of the 555 timer. The high output activates a buzzer which generates a sound, lights up an LED which correspond to the high output of the 555 timer and also displays the bed number on a 7 — segment display for the same period of time.
