ABSTRACT

This project presents the design and construction of a burglary alarm system. This system provides a medium by which the dubious activities of burglars in our environment can be put to check. This is achieved by designing a number of sensors into the system such as the pressure pad switch. Shadow detector sensor and sound activated sensor which through certain circuit operations is meant to sound an alarm in the presence of an intruder in or 0 around the protected structure. I The system consists of '7- functional units; once the transmitter unit is activated by a pushbutton switch, it sends a signal to the receiver unit. This signal to the receiver unit activates the other functional units such as the shadow detector unit, pressure ad switching unit, the sound activated unit and alarm unit. These three sensors await an intrusion by a burglar before an alarm is made to sound through a buzzer.
