Comparative Evaluation Of Employees' Job Satisfaction In Selected Private and Public Organizations

ABSTRACT

Every organization, whether privately or publicly owned, depends largely on the employees in achieving goals and objectives. This research focused on comparative evaluation of employee . job satisfaction in selected public and private organizations. The specific objectives among . others are to find out if there is importance of employee satisfaction in private and public organization, to find· out the difference in employee satisfaction in private and public organization and to find out the level of employee satisfaction among management and non- \ management staff of private and public organization. In carrying out the investigation, a  correlational survey of one hundred and fifty (150) public and private organizations was  { examined and the econometric statistical tool employed was the Z-test. The findings revealed  that there is a significant relationship between level of employee satisfaction in public and ; private: organizations, among others. It recommended that organizations in Ede State whether private or public should ensure that they promote policies and give adequate considerations to factors that will enhance employee satisfaction and commitment. Also government should enact : ruh!s that will enhance employee satisfaction and commitment in both the private and public organizations especially rules in relation to minimum wages, and· other relevant incentives to the workers in Edo State.
