ABSTRACT

 This project discusses about the Challenges and Prospects ofAutomation in Michael Okpara University ofAgriculture Umudike Library. It discusses mainly on the challenges and Prospects ofvariousfunctions ofthe Academic Libraries as well as it's positive impacts on staff. Forty-one questionnaire (4t) were administered and most ofthem were returned which means 90% return. The study shows that library automation has great impacts on academic libraries and also the library staff. There are also recommendations to problems identified during the course ofstudy at the end ofthe project.
