ABSTRACT
A budget is part of a plan and it is expressed in a financial and quantitative statement. It includes income, expenditure and the employment of capital. Thus budget is used as a means of locating responsibilities that often lead to a reduction in cost. And reduction is a process whereby permanent savings are made without any reduction in the quality and/or usefulness of the product. The use of budgeting as an instrument of good performance tool in a non-profit organization has not been determined and that is the main theme of this research. In this research, it is aimed at determining the impact of budgeting in nonprofit organizational goal attainment. To determine the importance of budgeting as a way of bring good performance in non- profit organization. The study will be of value by identifying the importance of budgeting in non-profit organization. These consistence of review of textbooks, journals and administration of questionnaires. Primary and secondary data were used in data collection. The population for this study is five hundred and seventy (570). The sample size is 235 and was determined using Yaro Yemeni's formular. The statistical instrument used for this study are simple percentage and chi-square. The researcher made use of primary and secondary sources of data collection to get facts. The Findings therefore review that: There is gross inadequacy of accounting man power in the church. Budget preparation is done by those who are non-budget experts. The following recommendations were made based on the findings; There should be at least a graduate accountant at each area. Each district should employ at least an accountant clerk for proper documentation of financial transactions of the church. That the accountant should be a financial adviser to the officers and presbytery.
