Abstract

This study considers the analysis of the investment pattern and productivity among agribusiness entrepreneur in Imo State. In sampling procedure, the study used random sapling technique in the selection of location from the three agricultural zones Owerri, Orlu and Okigwe. The method of data collection was collected from primary source through the use of a set of questionnaire administered on 90 respondents. The methods of analysis used were, objective one, on the socio-economics of the respondents, descriptive statistics were also employed. Objective two and three were analyzed using multiple regressions while objective four assessed the degree of relationship between investment and productivity with correlation analysis. Results showed that there is positive relationship between investments, productivity, education,Family size, sex, membership enterprises, marital status, income, age and household size. In terms of education, also investment value shows that reasonable result will be recorded if the farm enterprise is managed efficiently. Enterprise experience of about 8 years shows that the majority has reasonable wealth of experience. Days of operating also indicates that agribusiness entrepreneurs are still operating at the small holder level. While farm size of about 2 hectares that the existing knowledge of small holders with average farm size of less than 5 hectares. However, the result ascertained the relationship between investment and productivity.
