Analysis Of Financial Management In Public Sector Organizations In Nigeria. (A Study Of Public Sectors In Abia State)

ABSTRACT

This study examines the analysis of financial management in public sector organizations in Nigeria (a study of Public Sectors in Abia State, Nigeria). The researcher adopted descriptive and survey research design for the study. The data for the study emerged from primary sources. The population of the study is forty- five (45), while the sample size is forty (40). Several statistical tools such as tables, percentages, and simple regression model were employed in the analyses of data and testing of the formulated hypotheses. The study revealed that Financial management has significant effects on public sector organizations, at 5% level of significant; that Financial management has no significant effects on the performance of public sector organizations in Abia state government; that the effect of financial management on managerial competency of public sector organizations in Abia State government is significant, finally, that there is no significant effect of financial management on policy formulation ofpublic sector organizations in Abia State government. The study recommends among other things that, Government should ensure that professionals are employed to handle financial unit of the public Sector, so as to tackle the problem of fund mismanagement, and that proper book of accounts are maintained.
