ABSTRACT

The study of the Analysis of effective inventory management as a catalyst to profitability in a manufacturing company was carried out, to assess the effective inventory management on organizational profitability in Nigeria Breweries Pic. Descriptive research method, especially survey and case study were employed in carrying out the study. The population of the study was thirty (30). The sample size was twenty eight (28), was derived using the Taro Yamene formula for sample size determination from a finite population. Data were generated using questionnaire, oral interviews, observations, books, journals and the internet. Data were presented in tables and analyzed using simple percentages. Pearson product moment correlation coefficient used m the hypotheses testing. The findings of this study revealed a very strong relationship between effective inventory management and profitability level of the firm. Also, the study indicates that effective inventory control determines a firm’s annual turnover. Effective inventory control contributes to high level of productivity in a firm The works revealed that improvement on inventory control will improve the profit of the company. The company should endeavor to manage their inventory management effectively to increase its profitability. Management should consider the organizations inventory control system before making corporate policies. Management should not over-look their inventory control system to avoid low productivity.
