ABSTRACT

 Banking operations in the country is currently anchored on the platform of the revolutionary technological innovation of electronic banking. This study was undertaken to examine the economic implications of electronic banking taking First Bank Pic as a study. The study made use of time series data of economic growth and microeconomic total income variables of First Bank Pic for the statistical analysis. The regression results of the estimated model indicated that there is a positive and statistically significant relationship between total income variables of First Bank Pic for the statistical analysis. The regression result ofthe estimated model indicated that there is a positive and statistically significant relationship between total income of First Bank Pic and economic growth. Recommendations made include the need for banks to maintain the current tempo of electronic banking in their operations and Central Bank of Nigeria to hasten up . with the cashless economy policy in order to stimulate economic growth.
