In the face of the debilitating complications of Onchocerciasis, which render its victims physically, psychologically, socially and economically disabled, the researchers deemed it fit to carry out the study. The researchers used two local government areas. One was declared a hyperendemic area by the National Orchocerciasis control programme (Isuikwuato L.G.A) while the other L.G.A is an endemic area. A 30-item Questionnaire validated with reliability co-efficient of 0.83 was used. Also interview and review of existing records were used to elicit information for the study, t. Data were analysed using the t-test. Conclusion was drawn from the findings. The result showed that there was significant difference in the acceptance of mectizan drug due to degree of eizdemicity, gender, level ofeducation, positively and negatively mobilized the acceptance rate too. The recommendation among others include the mounting of counselling programmes through group counselling, mass media seminars, workshops and conferences for people in endemic areas.
