ABSTRACT

This study was carried out to find out "THE USE OF BUDGETTING AS A TOOL FOR CORPORATE PLANNING AND CONTROL IT IS A CASE STUDY OF OKU IBOKU PAPER MILL, CALABAR CROSS RIVER STATE". It is a study that will use variables which will be manipulated to arrive at certain conclusions. The problem is that most industries do not use proper method of Budgeting, during business planning and investment and the haphazard budgeting bring about business failure. Necessary literature will be reviewed, especially those that relates to study which bears the opinion, views and findings of authorities specialist and professional in field. The population of study will be drawn randomly from the staff of the Oku Iboku Paper Mill Calabar, and it must be made up of both Junior and Senior staff and those that are connected to the industry through business. A sample size of about 100 hundred workers of various ranks. And the statistical tool that will be used are percentages and it will later be converted to Pie Chart. The issue of Budgeting has been a problem for all industrialists and research finding shows that budget is a necessary economic tool or instrument which can be used to control production and distribution of commodities of various nature. And good budgetary measure brings growth, boom or prosperity to industries like the Oku Iboku Paper Mill. The recommendation is that all industries should be managed only by experienced and trained entrepreneurs and that all business investments must be planned, budgeted for, managed efficiently by putting all factors and all conditions into consideration, which will enhance efficient, well planned budget for proper industrial growth.
