The Impact Of Inventory Management On The Profitability Of Small Scale Manufacturing Company (A Case Study Of High Life Bakery Industry Ltd Aba)
ABSTRACT
Inventory play a major role in manufacturing companies. A
close observation has suggested that adequate management of inventory may lead
to increase in profits of manufacturing companies. Operating managers and
management as a whole should find inventory management a fruitful area for lowering
overall operations cost and thereby inversing profitability of operations. The
method of data collection adopted by the research is the questionnaires. The
questionnaires were distributed on a random basis. The analysis was by means of
percentages and frequency distribution of respondents. The formulated
hypotheses were critically tested using the chi square (X2) statistical tool.
In the course of the research, it was found not that all levels of management
are concerned with management of inventory. That the company has a need laid
and inventory information system, which also is well integrated into the
management information system.
