ABSTRACT

Effects of sodium species Of all the treatments. 0.3 grams of sodium benzoate were the growth of bacteria and fungi while 0.2 and 0.3 grams of' potassium sorhate was elThetive for fungi. 0.3. grams of Sodium benzoate was able to educe the bacterial quality to zero count on day 7 but 0.2 grams of potassium sorbate reduced the bacterial quality [roin 6.4 x I (JI to 2.0x 101. thcn reduce the fungal quality li'on 5. x 1 0 to zero count on day 7,Also. 0.3 grams of potassium sorbaic reduce the bacterial quality horn 6.4 x 101 to 1 .6 x I 0 and the [lingal count from 4.8 x i0 to zero count on da S . On day 7. 0.2 grams as well as 0.3grams of potassium SOL bate reduced fringal count from x 101 to zero count. Ihe p!1 of the untreated samples decreased rapidly as compared with treated samples. l'he statistical analysis of data obtained showed that the two treatments are correlated.
