The Effect Of Hibiscus Sabdariffa Aqueous Extract (Zobo) On Biochemical Profile Of Anaesthesized West African Dwarf (Wad) Goat
ABSTRACT
Hibiscus Sabdariffa is a shrub plant that the aqueous extracts of its leaves are used to prepare local drinks in different parts of the world. The aim of this study is to discover the effects of Hibiscus Sabdariffa on biochemical profile of anaesthesized West African Dwarf (WAD) Goat. Animal were grouped into A, B, C, and D, blood samples were collected after each experiment and biochemical test was run on the following biochemical parameters; Blood Urea Nitrogen, Albumin, Alanine Transaminase, Total Protein and Creatinine according to Agape Diagnostic Laboratory Procedure. From the result, we discovered that there was no significant difference between the treated groups S and control groups of every other biochemical parameters except for a slight difference between the values obtained at several points in the experiment carried out on Creatinine. This led to the conclusion that the consumption of aqueous extracts of H. Sabdariffa does not pose any threat to an anaesthesized patient.
