The Effect Of Efficient Inventory Management On The Survival And Growth Of Small Scale Enterprises In Nigeria (A Case Of Usoroh-Usoroh Nig Ltd)
ABSTRACT
Inventory management is a process of product or material management which inyøtves systematic stocking or holding of products or materials in a conducive condition till they are required for consumption or further production of goods and services.. It has become the foundation on which modem businesses depends. The objective of this paper therefore is to look at the records to be kept by an organization, their features and the importance of inventory management to the growth of an organization. Data were collected using the primary and secondary sources. The primary sources include the use of questionnaire and personal interview while existing literature forms the bulk of the secondary source. The data collected were presented using table while correlation was used in analyzing the data. It was found out from the data analysis that the raw materials purchased annually are directly related to both the company production and sale level. It is therefore recommended small scale enterprises should adopt efficient inventory management in order to survive the competition from the bigger companies.
