ABSTRACT
This study examined the garment drawing skills possessed by students. The problems hindering students’ skill acquisition. Also the strategies for enhancing acquisition of skill in garment drawing in Michael Okpara University Umudike Abia State and Nwafor Orizu College of Education Nsugbe Anambra State. Descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. The population comprised 191 students from Michael Okpara University Umudike and Nwafor Orizu College of Education Nsugbe. The sample size was 146. Questionnaire was used for data collection. Data were analysed using mean. Results revealed, among others, that the tools and equipment are inadequate in the garment drawing laboratories in the schools. It is therefore recommended, among others, that students’ practical classes should be conducted regularly. The practical classes should be funded by the school. Exhibition, fashion shows should be organized by the lecturers to motivate the students.
