Influence Of Emotional Adjustment On Health Related Physical Fitness Among Junior Secondary School Students (Jss) In Orlu Local Government Area Of Imo State:- Uzoka, Ngozi R
Abstract
The study examined the influence of emotional
adjustment on healthrelatedphysicalfitness test performance among junior
secondary school students (JSS2) in Orlu local Government Area ofImo State.
Four research questions guided the study. The population of the study consisted
of1000 students enrolled into the sixteen (16) secondary schools in the area of
study. The sample size was 400 students randomly drawn from eight selected
schools out of the sixteen (16) secondary schools in orlu Local Government Area
of Imo State. The instrument used in collecting datafor the study was a researcher
made structured questionnaire. The data collected were analyzed using mean and
standard deviation. Thefindings ofthe study revealed that emotional adjustment
has great influence on health related physicalfitness ofJSS students in the
study area, It was recommended that teachers should observe the behaviour
ofindividual students so as to identify those who have emotional
adjustmentproblems and assist them. The parents should show their children love
and tender care asthiswouldhelp to reduce their emotional challenges.
