ABSTRACT

Motivation deficit urges, aspirations drives and needs of human beings which tends to direct, control and describe a particular behaviour individual or group of individual. A question of what motivate workers to perform efficiently and effectively is not so easy to answer because of the complexity of man in terms of varying goals, need and aspirations at the workplace. Incentives generally refers to something which incites arouses or encourage a person to do something. Therefore this project is intended to highlight the impact of financial incentives on the productivity of workers in organization. It identified incentives rewards by classifying it into three group of individuals. The work started with introduction and concepts of motivation which is the trust of the people. This is followed by the statement of problem, statement of objective, statement of hypothesis , significance of the study, scope of the study etc. In chapter two the researcher discusses the vies of various writers on the topic their opinions and suggestions as regards the impact of financial incentives on the productivity of workers. Chapter three dealt with methodology. The primary data was through interviews and questionnaires administered to the workers in the study area. In chapter four, the data collected were analyzed in table form which numbers of responses and percentage of the respondents were shown. Chapter five is on summary of findings recommendation and conclusion on the subject matter. The study reveals that incentives have corelationship with work performance because it assists in satisfying human needs and increasing output of the institution. Consequently to achieve efficiency and increase productivity in the institution thereby avoiding occasional show of workers grievances and absenteeism management should improve the workers financial incentives.
