ABSTRACT

This study seeks to examine the Impact of Company Income Tax Revenue on developing economies using Nigeria as the case study. Time series data that relates to relevant information that depicts tax structure and characteristics of Nigeria collected from Central Bank of Nigeria Statistical Bulletin and Federal Inland Revenue Service were used to capture Company Income Tax Revenue on economic variables, such as: gross domestic product (GDP), Per capita income, Unemployment rate and standard of living. Four Null hypotheses were stated to critically examine the effect of the independent variables on the dependent variables. The study adoptedtheOrdinaryLeast SquareMethod (OLS)using the statistical Package for Social Sciences(SPSS Theresultofthefindings revealedthatCompanyIncome TaxRevenuehasa positive and significant influenceonEconomicGrowth, Unemployment rateandPer Capita Income and also on the standard of living of citizens. It can be seen generally that the contributionofCompanyIncomeTaxtotheprogressionofaggregaterevenueandsubsequent economic growth cannot be overemphasized.  The study therefore recommends that government should expand tax yield through tax system administration,thisis becauseofthepositivedanger of over-reliance on crude oil export receipts to drive the economy,and there should also be an improvement in the tax administration by ensuring proper and equitable tax assessment and timely collection.
