ABSTRACT

This project "Impact of Chemical Industries on the Educational Development of Aba zone" focuses on the contributions of chemical industries on educational development. To conduct effective investigation therefore, and to give the project a sense of direction, problems were stated as to explore the issue in question. A descriptive survey method was adopted using a fifteen structured questions in data collection. The population of the study is the 164 head teachers and 40head teachers was sampled out of the 164 head teachers, ten schools were sampled and visited out of the forty one secondary schools in Aba zone and the results were used for the analysis. Greater percentage of the data collected show that chemical industries have contributed to a high extent on the educational development of Aba zone. From data collected, chemical industries situated in Aba zone have contributed tremendously on the educational development of the zone through seminars, career talks, teacher training and in-service courses and enlightenment campaigns. Students and teachers of chemistry gain much when exposed to advance facilities that abound in the industries that's the relevance of the purpose of study to educational developments. Of course, the information gathered from the analysis and testing of hypothesis helped the researcher to draw the needed implication, recommendations and suggestions for further study.
