Abstract

The study looked into how much public university librarians in South-East, Nigeria agreedwith each otherregarding benefits ofusing online information resources (OIR)for efficientservice delivery. The studywasguidedby one research objective, one research question, andone research hypothesisthatwas developed and tested at the 0.05 level ofsignificance. Descriptive survey was adopted and the population consist 174 respondentsmade up the studypopulation, which useda descriptive survey. Total enumeration was usedforthe study. Questionnaire was usedfor data collection, and validated copies were checkedforreliability usingCronbachAlphawhichyieldeda reliability coefficient of0.94 to vouch for its dependability. About 90% ofthe questionnaires were validlyfilled and returned, totalling 157 copies. Mean,frequency count andstandarddeviation ofdescriptive statistics were useddata analysis. Research question was addressed using mean score, and hypothesis was tested using inferential statistics oft-test. Results indicated a mean of2.95 high extentresponses by respondents, conclusively indicating that public university librarians' use of online information resources (OIR) for efficient service delivery inpublic university libraries was ofhigh extent andimpact inpublic university libraries in South-East, Nigeria. Thus, university librarians are advisedto effectivelydirect OIRs usefor ongoing, extensive endorsementofservices beingprovidedinpublic university librariesin South-East, Nigeria.
