Evaluation Of Accounting Information As An Aid To Management Decisions In Manufacturing Companies (A Case Study Of P. Z Industries Plc, Abia State)
ABSTRACT
This research project is very crucial to the study of the control of finance in the ministry of finance Umuahia. The study was motivated by the necessity to establish the extent of financial control and accountability in the public sector organization. Nigerian financial and accountability in the public sector is faced with a list of problems such as late finalization and publication of accounts and poor keeping of internal accounting records. Inability to conform to financial rules, regulation and instructions. Lack of knowledge and expertise among government accounts and financial controllers occupying higher levels of responsibilities. The main objective of this study is to establish the extent of financial control and accountability in the public sector organization to see that proper financial control system and accountability in Abia State ministry of Finance are well practice, to eliminate inadequacy in the financial control system. To solve the research problem, both primary and secondary data were collected. The research instruments used in collecting the data were questionnaires and oral interviews. The respondents comprised of the personnel, contractors, suppliers and staff of the organization. In organizing and presenting data collected, tables, frequencies and percentages were used. The various hypothesis were tested using the chi-square. Based on the results and findings some recommendations were made which include; reviewing of the internal control system, requirement and training of qualified workers, improvement of working condition of staff of the ministry.
