ABSTRACT
The purpose of the study was to assess the improvement of achievement level of Agricultural Science students of senior secondary schools in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State. ..Descriptive' survey research design was adopted for the study. A structured questionnaire was used to gather the needed information from 220 subjects (20 Agricultural Science teachers and stage, sampling technique. The collected data, distribution; percentage, mean and standard deviation) and inferential (t-Test statistics. The .findings revealed that chalkboards, charts* posters, pictures, litmus paper, maps, textbook and .specimens, are, available teaching facilities for Agricultural Science in secondary schools; laboratory. teaching method, field investigation method, e-Iearning/intemet, project method, .game and 'simulation, collaborative teaching method^ action research, inquiry guided strategy, 「 field trips,- motivational method, workshop teaching, problem solving method, illustration and :use of examples, demonstration method, discussion method and lecture method are appropriate ,, methods of teaching that will enhance the achievement level of senior secondary school students in Agricultural Science; age, gender and. likeness of Agricultural science as a subject by the , students, level of. class attendance, teaching experience of the teachers, parents5 level of education the students, type of accommodation where, these students lived outside the school , .environment; occupation of the parents of the students, togetherness of the parents of the parents . “ of the students and family income are factors that enhance the achievement level of senior secondary, school' students in Agricultural Science; teacher's lack of teaching skills, non coverage of content requirement^ unpunctuality and non-use of instructional materials, Students Lack of interest in. the subject, laziness, shrinking away from lessons^ practices not being • .gender. bias, are constraints to students.5 achievement in senior secondary school Agricultural interesting,, large class size' inadequate if time, lack of' school farm and regular practice on it.
