Effects Of' Cash Management On Financial Performances Of Banks In Nigeria (A Study Of First Bank Nigeria PLC)
ABSTRACT.
This study focuses on the effect of cash management on financial performance of banks in Nigeria. The
major problem examine in this research is to determine the extent of which cash turn over ratios affects
return on assets and to determine the extent to which cash turn over ratios affects return on equity. Data
were collected using secondary sources using descriptive research design. The collected were then
tabulated and analyzed using the simple regression analysis. The result Of hypothesis one revealed that cash
turnover ratio has no significant effect on return on asset. The finding of hypothesis two revealed that cash
turnover ratio has no significant effect on return on equity. It is recommended that before any collection or
disbursement procedure is initiated, a careful analysis should be undertaken to if the expected benefits
outweigh the expected cost. Additional the study revealed that cash prOjection should be capable of
directing management attention of areas of greatest needs and impact critical to banks. Finally, it should be
noted that the ultimate responsibility for establishing a good cash management culture rest with the chief
finance executive. He must make sure that there is enough cash to meet the firm's transaction, production
and speculative needs.
